Accessing the forum through "Discourse Hub" (iOS and iPadOS)

Hello team,

I understand this forum uses “Discourse”. I would like to be able to access it on my iPad in particular using the “Discourse Hub” app. The app recognises the forum and allows me to browse. However, when I try to log in, it takes me to the login page, accepts my username and password, but I then immediately get a “502 Bad Gateway”.

Has anyone else reported this? Is there any solution? I am based in the UK, and have
tried access with no VPN running on my devices.

Works fine for me.

  • Install Discourse Hub App
  • Add forum.typst.app
  • Since I was already logged in on Safari on iPad, no need to log in again. Everything works as expected.

There was a pop up at the beginning asking for permissions to be granted. Silly question, but have you tried deleting the app and trying again?

Can you log in using Safari normally? This app is really only a wrapper on the web UI.

Thanks. As I have three other forums that I participate in using the Discourse Hub, before, deleting the app, I deleted the Typst entry and tried again. This time it worked without problem… I didn’t even have to enter my details, just authorise it.

I have never liked Safari. I use Brave, DuckDuckGo or iCab mobile on iOS; on my computers I use Brave or Arc for most purposes, though I am trialling Zen. But for working with the Typst web app, I use iCab… if it worked with a 1Password extension, I’d use it for all my internet working.
