Feature request for the web-editor: Allow for moving the file uploader around

I’m new to Typst and recently tried to take notes for my lecture using a split window. It works well for everything except when I need to upload a file:

The problem is that I have to move my split window everytime I need to upload a screenshot or another type of file to my document in a figure:

This wouldn’t be a problem under normal circumstances, but when you need to keep up with the professor and quickly attach some notes to a figure/graph, the process of having to drag your split window back-and-forth each time becomes quite time consuming.

It’d be nice if there was some feature such that you could fix the “upload files” function to the bottom left such that it wouldn’t obstruct my view/interfere with my flow. As such, I think a feature of dragging the upload files tab to where you want to prefix it could be quite convenient. I don’t know if what I’m asking is possible, but I’m also open to alternatives/suggestions.

Hi. I don’t understand what is a split window. You don’t use a separate window for preview.

If all you need is insert images, then just drag-and-drop them to the web app editor tab.

The feature requests for the web app are tracked in https://github.com/typst/webapp-issues/issues.

Also, the feature request is not a usage question, so it doesn’t belong in Questions.

By “split window” I mean anything where you use 1 part of the screen for 1 thing, and the other part for another. For example, I could be writing notes in Typst on the left side while following along on the slides on the right side, as demonstrated in the first example picture of my question.

I didn’t realize you could use drag-and-drop. That’ll solve my issue of inserting screenshots of relevant figures (If I’m fast enough to catch it), but there may still be instances where uploading other types of files may be annoying while multitasking (because the upload file thing is still fixed to the center of the screen).

I didn’t know this was supposed to be uploaded on the github, however. I’ll see if I can figure that out - Thank you for your help!
