While not exactly life‑threatening, over the past few days, I’ve noticed that some pages—especially category and tag overviews—can take quite a while to load, even though my internet connection seems stable. I’ve run into this a few times now on different browsers, devices, and networks, so it probably isn’t just on my end.
Are you experiencing the same slowdown—or is it just me being impatient?
The team is aware of the issue and have mentioned they plan to try something that might speed it up.
The forum is generally quite slow. In the past, the team has already thrown quite a few compute resources at the problem. I hope they soon find the magic Discourse performance config option.
This is a well known issue (by now) of Discourse being very resource hungry, so the current infrastructure can’t handle too much people at the same time, which is quite annoying. It can take up to 15–20 seconds to get a UI to respond to an action. But this is only during peak times, which can be almost an entire UTC day (maybe from 12:00 until 22:00). During night and stuff, it’s super snappy.
