How are everyone's experiences with the Github integration?

Hi all,

I’m thinking about pushing a bunch of colleagues to prepare a major grant proposal with Typst. Most colleagues would want to use the web app (they come from the LaTeX world and are currently Overleaf fans), but some of us would want to work offline through the Github integration.

When I tried a similar setup in September with just a single colleague, we occasionally got merge conflicts when he made edits in the web app and I edited offline and synchronized through Github. I’m not quite sure how these conflicts happened, but they make me worry that things will break horribly if I roll this out to twenty impatient collaborators instead of two.

Does anyone have experience with collaborative editing on this kind of scale? Any best practices that you could share?

There are known minor issues between github and typst web app.
So perhaps you have to choose one from they two.

Plan A. some edit and sync online + the others edit offline and sync online
Plan B. some edit online and sync offline + the others edit and sync offline
Plan C. all edit and sync online
Plan D. all edit and sync offline

online = web app, offline = github
