I’m finding my work flow is being massively slowed down by two things in math mode.
It is impossible to type just one $ (and possible some other symbols), this is especially frustrating when I already have one and only need to add one more. The worst thing is when I try to delete one, it will then delete both of them. I waste quite a bit of time dealing with this.
The pop up suggestions. When I type and x I get a window suggesting xi, xor, XI or XX. This is a nice feature if you want it but incredibly disruptive if you just want to type a bunch of algebra.
Please, there has to be a way to turn this off as they are significantly detracting from the user experience of the web app.
However I agree that these aspects are key for bringing more users to the webapp, and as seen by those issues, you’re definitely not the only one bothered by lack thereof.
It seems both of these are issues for many users.
Here’s another example.
I can only echo the confusion and frustration from the other users who have raised these issues.
It seems utterly bizarre to me that so much effort had been put into the language and the web app only to have the user experience so significantly compromised by what looks like such a small and easily fixable issue.
As the web app is not really useable for me (and many others it seems), is there a way I can use Typst locally (on Windows) without these problems but still keep the autocompiling on the adjacent pdf?
I’ve tried using vscode with tinymist but unfortunately am experiencing the same thing.
