It seems the named spacing defined reflect the Latex spacing:
as in:
\quad=quad\,=thin\:=med\;=thick\=space\qquad=wide
What exactly do you wish to solve using the additional spaces (0.5em, 0.75em)?
Do you have an example, where you wish to use these spacings?
