How to let the bibliography display the "cited on page 7" linked reference (backreference)?

Often when I’m reading a long document, I click a citation to jump to the bibliography at the end. After that, if I want to return to where I was reading, I have to scroll back up and find the spot again.

In LaTeX, you can configure the bibliography to show something like “cited on page 7” (sometimes even listing multiple pages), where those page numbers are links back to the corresponding location(s) in the document. That makes it easy to go back and forth between citations and references.

Is there a way to achieve the same kind of “backlinks” in Typst, e.g., having bibliography entries include linked page numbers (or citation locations) that jump back to where the reference was cited?

Hi there,

I haven’t tried it but retrofit – Typst Universe seems to be offering this backreference feature.

Whether or not retrofit helps, many pdf readers provide the capability you ask for without requiring paging up and without inserting backlinks (which may be non-compliant with published bibliography formats).
