New user - Safari - blank screen

I created an account, confirmed email on Firefox, and then logged in on Safari.

icons on the left side appear for a second, then everything goes blank.

Error message is shown.

I’m guessing that I’m using a not-terribly-new version of Safari on my MacBook Pro (although everything works fine with Firefox). But I think a better way of telling me so would be good idea! :slight_smile:

We’ll take a look at having a more systematic approach to ensure we don’t use too new browser features.

If anyone else has this problem… My MacBook was running Safari 16. But I couldn’t log in on my main iMac either, and that was running MacOS Ventura, Safari 17.2 (2022-2023). According to “caniuse”:

I need to be on at least 17.4. Fortunately I was able to get a Ventura-compatible Safari v18.5 download from the Apple Developer site, so I can now successfully start typst.app.
