I’ve been doing data science for a looong time and I am absolutely thrilled to have this fantastic tool. I know my way around R and Python very well, have always thought R graphics were just unbeatable (python is a way behind on this). But the combination of Typst with Lilaq really moves this up a level in my view. Tight integration makes everything much more ergonomic, and proper typesetting is something that once you’ve experienced, you’ll never go back on (I was a journalist once, a long time ago, and I had a very demanding layout artist in those days using Quark Xpress and she taught me, at risk of a very nasty looks, what proper layout looks like. 'cos once you get a 7-colour Heidelberg Offset Press humming, you’re committed to your layout!!).
Please note that this is my first time using Typst/Lilaq properly, lots to learn, there are plenty of little things that I will refine, and I’m sure I’m doing bunches of unidiomatic coding and of course I’m inlining a lot of things that could be in functions etc. But it still turned out okay I think! Very happy with it.
