I wanted to create my PhD thesis at The University of British Columbia (UBC) with Typst and ended up making a template for it! I may consider adding it to the official list of Typst templates once I figure out how to do that. This is fantastic work. One small hint: at many institutions, a “thesis clerk” will enforce formatting rules on margin widths, placement of page numbers, and the formats of the table of contents, list of figures, etc. So, it might be helpful to include in your documentation a few pointers about what folks might have to change, if they clone your work for use at other universities. The margin rules make sense for eventual (or possible) binding of paper copies. The other rules may change from year to year, clerk to clerk, but unfortunately such clerks hold a lot of power over an exhausted student who has poured years of life into a thesis project.
