Why do I get „Your device is running low on memory Typst is limited to x MB“ in Safari?

Hello! I just started using Typst a couple days ago. Today, after finishing my third project, having all of them saved in my Typst cloud (it being at 27% storage), I get reoccurring notifications with decreasing amounts of „memory“ I have left, until I can not open any project any more. Restarting the app fixes it temporarily, until I repeatedly open a project again.

This has only happened on my iPhone and iPad, I have not gotten such a message when working on PC (Windows).

I checked my storage on iCloud and on both devices, they are not full at all.

I am at a loss, is there an easy fix? Have I done something wrong?

With memory it means RAM in this case and not device or iCloud storage. The problem only occurs in Safari because there is a bug in Safari where it doesn’t properly clear the memory used after a session, so every time you open or reload a project, the previously used memory is gone. Unfortunately, closing the tab and opening a new one is the only fix for this memory leak we are aware of.
