It is clear to me that a lot of people who ask a question for the first time don’t read stuff related to how to properly do this in Discourse. It is also clear that basically all posts from new users are ending up in Questions, and in general forum is where you ask questions.
So why not make Questions a category by default? It will make moderation much easier and can reduce amount of messages sent related to forum guidelines. I don’t see any reasons why not to.
By extent, I also think that default syntax highlighting should be typst
and not something, that I don’t know what it is. This will also cover the most of incorrectly formatted code blocks. Or, maybe even better, make the default language identifier text
or any alias that removes any sudden coloring. Then any stuff, like CSV, YAML, BibLaTeX, etc. will be plain text instead of weird maybe-Typst-like colored mix of tokens (also good for code mode).
