How to create a little folding booklet?

Hello,

I am working on a project, where i create little booklets that fold to 8 pages from a single piece of paper. Currently i am using Inkscape to do the layout, but would like to automate the layouting.

This is the base layout of the page i would need(without the black/red lines). Has anyone already tried doing something like this or could give me a hint how to start?

I think your best bet is to configure the page size in typst for a single small page of your document, and use a postprocessing tool to rearrange the PDF pages into something with 8 small pages on a single large page.

(It would be possible to make the whole large page in typst but then you don’t have the usual commands to set things up: for example #set page(margin: ...) would affect the large page rather than the small pages.)

Hey @Elouin! I’ve changed the title of your post to better reflect our guidelines for question posts: How to post in the Questions category

Make sure your post title is a question you’d ask to a friend about Typst.

Thanks for the answer!

Is there a postprocessing tool you can recommend for that? Like i said i would like to automate the layouting etc.

psnup is probably what you are looking for. It is found in a package called psutils.
